OHIO STATE

God I love Ohio State football.
I remember when I became a true fan of Ohio State I was maybe 10 or 11 so it's been 42 year's.
My Dad was in our family room and we were watching a preview on the wide world of sports a they were talking about the B-10 and it dawned on me that Ohio State my home town team was being mentioned.Back in those days the mid to late 60s you only got maybe 1 game a year on the tube so I spent every Sat in those days listening to the games on the radio. The visualization I had as a kid was pretty good it was like I was in the stands.Growing up in Columbus and later Dublin ,Ohio the Buckeyes were kings and woody Hayes was the focus of all that was Ohio State.

Ohio State won the NC in 1968 and it was a mythical time for a kid that team of super sophomores
sealed my long lasting love for OSU. But it was also a State pride thing.I was proud to be from Ohio it was a great place to grow up in rural country with the city just a few miles down the road.
We moved to Springfield Ohio when I was in 8th grade then onto Centerville south of Dayton for my freshman year but I always loved Columbus and even though I live in Indiana now (had to move here for a job I took) but before I die I will move back to Columbus thats my home.

Iam 53 years old and I know one thing we need as a people to read more. Not newspapers but books.Ficton literature any thing that makes our minds work. Reading may be the greatest thing we can do to allow us to relax relieve stress and just bring enjoyment to our lives.
Reading expands your knowledge base it keeps your brain functioning and the best thing its just plain fun.

I enjoy Christopher Moore, Elmore Leonard and sports biographers .Moore books are adult fantasy that lets me imagine how fun it would be to be as crazy as his characters.
I found audblie books several years ago so now I can listen to my favorite books also, for 20$ a month I can download any 2 books it is something I really have found enjoyment in.
I find myself turning the tv off earlier every evening and just settling back and listening to good books more and more.My advice is to learn to go back in time and read or listen to books again you will find it well worth the effort.

WHY SHOULD THOSE UNDER 21 NOT BE ALOUD TO DRINK

Why is it we can send young men and women to defend this country and allow them to serve in combat and mourn them when they die but not allow them to buy liquor.

Why allow the freedom to be and adult at 18 to go to college, rent and apartment pay taxes
but not allow them the right to drink.

Now Iam not a big believer in their right to drink I doubt if many are mature enough to handle it,but I know many who were not mature enough at 25,35, or older.Maturity is not age specific wisdom comes from age but that wisdom comes from mistakes. It comes from making the wrong decision and learning from that.
What galls me is that we older folks thing we know better or are smarter but we are the idiots that keep electing the fools that serve us in Washington but only serve themselves.

What is it with the overly sensitive left wingers . Did they not think Obama would face harsh scrutiny  tough examination of his policies. A lets not  get overly  upset he won promising change and solutions to fix these problems. I say lets give him a chance but if things are not showing improvement by Xmas of 09 it will be more likely he will be a one and done.

I wanted to say a few things on this Sat night in Bloomington.I want to find a new job back in Ohio.I will never be happy in this town or at Crider.I have worked in 4 places since 1974 but this company while profitable for the owners is the most dysfunctional place with morale lower than any place since the armed services after Vi et Nam. I could handle it if I was still around my family but the fact that iam alone it just makes it terrible. So starting this week I will find a new place to work.

You can make a lot of money but you want to know the real truth family if you have them are more important.

GOOD TV

I have found myself recently becoming very found of British TV.  The older programs like To the Manor Born,As Time Goes BY,Rum pole Of The Bailey and Black Adder.I am not a snob far from it I love MANY American shows like Bones,House, heck I even watch Charmed reruns its just BBC Tv is very good funny no split your side funny but quirky funny. And the  actors are all very good.I defy any one to watch the Vicar Of  Dibley and not wish you lived in that village for a month. The Brits have a dry sense of humor and that appeals to me.

For all who want a treat give some of these series a try most will make you feel better after your done watching than when you started. And remember were you read it.

Another Sat Night

I live in Bloomington,In I moved here 2 years ago after being a life long resident of Dayton,Oh.
I moved here for a job Opportunity.Being in my early 50s single and children grown I had been let go by the Company I worked for.I was going to try and go into another line of work but Road Construction is what I know so I took a chance and so far so good.

I don't love this job and some day I want o relocate back to Columbus Ohio,It is a place I love and my Granddaughter is two she needs to know who I am in person not just over Web Cam chats.

52 is young now day's but it's also a little scary.Guys are dropping dead left and right .I think you have to get by 52 and you are safe until 60 .

Tonight it dawned on me how boring my Sat nights are.I miss hanging out with my friends at the pubs and the family get together's.But I will say I have learned to appreciate  Classic British Tv.

What I really want to say is the years are flying by it is time to really get on with enjoying each day week and month.
Do what makes you happy because one day you may not realize what you left undone.
